Herdez Guacamole Sauce
It's the new favorite sauce @ casa Baboon. Not a lot of heat, but big on flavor!

I'll have to try that. I was eating Herdez canned salsa before it was sold this side of the border. My mom and dad would go grocery shopping across the border in Nogales, Mexico where groceries were half the price. They'd just buy staples and canned goods, though.
I just got some of this stuff, but haven't tried it, yet: https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Top-Bran.../dp/B01MG7I5WQ

I like their regular salsa but I've never had the guacamole flavor. I'll give it a try.
That Blue Top stuff looks good, too.

One of my favorite mescin resturant makes a killer guacamole sauce. I have made my own in the past when avos are cheap, which seems to be never anymore. For a jar sauce Herdez makes great red & green sauces as well. I think the wife has finally figured out Pace Picante is crap!

I bought some of this stuff, yesterday. It went good on eggs this morning.
I got it because it looks like it will go good on fish tacos. Using some leftover red snapper, flaked off the skin into a skillet with some seasonings, then put on little tortillas with shredded cabbage (coleslaw mix from the store) and topped with this sauce for "street style fish tacos". |
