If I ever need a jury, I'd sure like one made up of good citizens and not the people who were too dumb to get out of jury duty.

You would think they keep a record of agesof those they want to call.
Three times I've signed the release because I'm over 70, the cut off age if requested. |

I get called every 2 years. My doctor is going to write a note about my spinal injury next time. It keeps getting worse where I got shot. Can't sit for long anymore.

I get called every three or four years. It's supposed to be done alphabetically. My son is 37 and has never been called.

I was once called because I was walking through the Courthouse doing something else; some old broad that was drunk driving in Marin County, CA…poor confused old thing…probably wondered the rest of her life why the jury was hung when clearly she was guilty as hell…no retrial on such things back then!
It's a civic duty created by our glorious Constitution…usually they use the voter rolls to pick candidates…I'm not quite sure how the feds do it…but, I can tell you that Deputy Attorneys General hate jury trials, would rather make a deal and even use a 'case jumping rat' to do it…on the other hand, Judges seem to act favorable toward defendants who go to trial and choose a jury…at least I have found this to be true and in the process are 'lenient' even when the guilty son of a bitch is found guilty…on the evidence. (Don't watch too much TV on this one…if you are curious go down to the courthouse and find a trial in session and sit as an observer…usually they can't stop anyone from doing this!

As has been said, I rather a good, reasonable man on my jury than a stupid one, but if you have to get out of it due to work, etc....
Just ask the Judge during selection whether he explains Jury Nullification pre-trial. The prosecutor will send you home quicker than shit through a goose.

Been called twice, first one settled out of court. Second time they didn't want me because of brother in prison and all the law enforcement in extended family. Hope they put a note in my file.
