Would I be out of line to speculate that the shooter had an axe to grind with the police. Perhaps some heavy-handed police tactics in a prior encounter left him bitter. Perhaps he did some time when a police officer "filled in some gaps" with his testimony on the stand. Perhaps a warrantless search or an unjustified tazing.

As long as police cover up for the wrongdoing of their fellow officers, these incidents will increase in number.

So although the officers who were shot did not deserve what they got, somewhere there is a dick cop who treated someone badly without justification, and now the 2 dead officers have paid the price.

Or maybe I am wrong and there is nothing wrong with police officer conduct.

My own thoughts also go along those lines Mr Grains. I don't think anyone 'grows up hating' cops or smokes or anyone else. I call it EARNING THE HATE, ONE ENCOUNTER AT A TIME I do think however that a person should hunt down the person that wronged him instead of taking a random target. But since that is sometimes not possible, and NO ONE can show me a video of a 'good cop' stopping the bad actions of a 'bad cop', this will probably continue to happen.
Me? I treat LEOs like rattlesnakes. I know I can't defang or eliminate them all, so I just stay as far away as I can.

Gilchrist county I had to look that one up and its just up a short way from me here. Has to be rural cattle country not even many roads or so it appears?
Lots and lots of illegal pot growing down here in those quiet counties. Not sure their is any connection but its big money involved.
