scope it... surp rifles
I've noticed a significant degradation of my vision recently.... that little traget at 100 yards is just that..... a little white box with maybe a black circle in the middle...
temporary fix: scout / scoping the shooters just picked up a scout mount for yugo mauser and a couple more AIM Sports 2-7x30 scout cheapie scopes on the way... next stop: eye doctor. |

looks like your going about it the right way instead of bubba hack and slash. a few months back found German K98 at a local shop that was probably a WWII bringback that had been converted into a hunting rifle.
it had the SS death head skull on the receiver. |

Sporterizing military weapons is tantamount to a war crime.
Although I have to confess, I have gotten several former military rifles, that I have been able to resurrect from sporterizing efforts. Fortunately, they only butchered the wood, not the metal. Once they bollix the metal, it is scrap, or parts only to me.

That depends on what you mean by "better". The Mauser is certainly better engineered, and has many more moving parts, and may even be slightly more accurate at more than 600 meters, but for survivability under combat conditions, the 1891/1930 Mosin Nagant rifle is the king of battle in that realm. |
