Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Hackers Have Successfully Hidden Malware In Popular PC Cleanup Tool

Quote:
A computer program used to help your PC run faster has reportedly become the latest victim of hackers looking to breach the security of millions of its users.

CCleaner, the computer-optimizing tool made by software company Piriform, was successfully infected by malware, according to security firm Cisco Talos. The malware reportedly tried to connect to unregistered websites in order to remotely download even more harmful programs to users’ computers.

Security experts say the Trojan horse-style attack hackers launched affected over 2 million CCleaner customers who downloaded the product in August.

If you have it on your computer you should probably dump it now. I always clean my registry manually. That way I know what I'm removing.

I wish I was out somewhere and a guy told me he was a computer hacker. I would pound his frigging face in.

The article says they caught it before it got out, though. I use CCleaner on my work computers. Didn't know it was owned by Avast, though.

I would finish the job with a shovel. Not that I like filling in holes, but a man has to do what a man has to do.

Mr Pogo, under 'PROGRAMS', it tshows that my CCleaner was loaded on my machine 11/18/2015. I have never run this program or updated it. Does this mean I should be good?
I used to use 'Registry Mechanic but can't find a place to download it anymore. R/M used to work fine for me.
Thanks.

I haven't been able to download CCleaner on this new computer.
Maybe that was a good thing?

I would do that...but...I am afraid I might delete something necessary....

I just deleted CC Cleaner.

I use CCleaner whenever I get into the Win7 partitions. I find it a real useful tool.
