Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Inquiring minds wish to see pics of your new smokepole.

I sure hope you have a GOOD place to stash your toys that can keep the niqqrz, wets and krak heads off your shit.

Default More picts. tomorrow in the light.

Picts. coming in a bit here. I just got the bayo in. Holy sheet with the bayo and those guys being like average height in the 1700s at 5' 5" tall? Damn it must have been a challenge to haul these things around.
This smoke pole weighs in at around 11 lbs no bayo unloaded. It is a 1763 Charleville and they lightened them a bit for the Revolutionary war troops. Opposing troops tried to line up in battle at 75 yds distance.
That distance could be run for a bayonet charge before the enemy could reload.
Bad picts. sorry bout that. But their are half moons stamped in the stock and we are trying to figure out what they signify? Myself and Lee down the road here have noticed them on quite a few old 18 century weapons?

I have a bit of a passion for flintlocks. They are really fun to shoot.

When I was 8 or 9 years old I was given a huge flinter shotgun to carry.
Memory is a bit faulty but I think it was about ten feet long and weighed a thousand pounds.

Only shot it a couple times, had to carry it pointed up or over my shoulder.
Get ready to shoot, bring it down from pointed up, stop it on target and immediately pull the trigger.
I think I did manage to knock over a few birds or bunnies with it.

Modern guns are nice and all, but shooting traditional style of muzzleloaders has always been my main interest. Really wish I could afford all the ones I want lol.

We'll form a nonprofit called "4th ID Vet's Firearms Museum" (under I.R.C. Section 501(c)(3). You will contribute the firearms to the museum nonprofit. You will be the museum director. The museum's charter will provide that upon your demise, the property of the museum shall be transferred to the Cody Firearms Museum in Cody, Wyoming. Then your creditors and heirs, if any, will be unable to touch any of the firearms (unless the commit theft, which creditors seldom do but relatives seem to be good at).

If I had it, I would go shoot a doe deer with it. Not in the rain or snow, but an opportunity to actually use it in the field could be created. A story about the rifle and the pics of the rifle with the deer would make a nice magazine article. With about $3K to invest in a hunt, it could be used on a private land buck hunt, probably from a tree stand or blind.

Or, worst case scenario, a guy could go to Texas and shoot a hog with it.

The Romans carried 60 pounds plus armor.

WWII soldiers had an 82 pound combat loadout, and BAR gunners had 99 pounds.

Modern combat load is 77 pounds plus (plus lots of extra stuff...).

Interesting on the weight loads 500grains.
On my overseas adventure I weighed in at 140 lbs. soaking wet in the damn rain. They gave me 141 lbs. worth of implements of destruction to frigging carry.
Should have told the Sarge I weighed 90 lbs. Young and stupid.
