Kinda wish I had kept the Yugo 59/66 SKS I had...
My son bought a Norinco SKS the other day.
Yesterday he texts me and asks if I'm working near his home. I wasn't Anyway, he asks if I'm gonna be 'near' anytime soon to save him a trip to the town where I live (roughly 50 miles apart) The dude I got the .45 ACP & .22LR ammo from, asked my son if he was interested in about 900 rounds of 7.62X39 ammo for $200. He snapped it up! I was in the town where he lives to pick up my bike from the bike shop today and after the wife dropped me off, she went to his place and got the ammo can, some rounds that won't cycle in his 1911 and $200 hidden (his 'mad money' earned doing side jobs). Dude with the ammo dropped it off this evening. After counting it all up, there's roughly 1200 rounds (appears to be Russian MilSurp & Herters Hollow Point, steel case). The cases on the what appears to be the Russian ammo, looks like they are brass (not even close to the same color as my 7.62X54R ammo). Did a Soviet Bloc Country manufacture 7.62X39 with BRASS casings? |

If it is Yugo M67, it is corrosive. Good ammo, just clean after shooting.

Golden Bear makes some that looks like brass but is steel cased with a brass plating. Check it with a magnet.

Thanks guys!
I just checked the boxes and they're marked "M67" and I checked a couple rounds with a magnet. The cases are brass. Thanks again! |
