Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Lightbulb Thanks Rabbis Diesel and Merc

It is because of your repetition of the Wisdom you have gained and I did not that I finally understand the first page/thing in the Bible.

When G-d breathed Life into the first man and said, "This is good." I didn't believe it. Man has spent every waking hour trying to prove he isn't good and most resting hours dreaming up new ways to do it.

You two keep saying, "Life is good." Now I understand. The Life is what is good. The shape of man may be the image but Life is the Gift and the Spark.

G-d told His people He was a G-d of Light and is a living G-d. In an experiment it was established that light behaves differently when observed. If the observers are not exerting an unknown force on light then the only other conclusion would be that light is aware that it is being observed.

This is the other side of Nietsche's coin, if the Abyss looks into you so does the Light. I knew light was alive from the moment that I read those findings.

The last two paragraphs may or may not have anything to do with the connection you two helped me make. I was including it to show I'm usually not this slow connecting dots. I think I just like light more than I thought I liked my life.

The point is your pointing out the obvious, life is good, finally got through.

Thanks for the literal Enlightenment.

Everyday above ground is a good one.
Cemetaries are full of folks, if they could
talk, would tell you the same.

My life, like everyone else, has been no bowl
of cherries, with gum drops, wax lips, and unicorns,
but I'm still here..
It has often been violent and dark, but that's how it goes.

Still here.
Still going.
I intend to make the best of it.
Everyday I try to be better than yesterday.
Tomorrow I will try to be better than today.

Blessings my Brother,
MERC

Every day I try to do something that I consider productive.
Whether it matters to anyone around me or not.
I hope that the light will continues, in my eyes, when I am observed by others.

"Oh may that light shine on me!"

Life is not to be squandered

But enjoyed to the fullest extent

that we can...

And one must share what joys that

they can garner with the ones around

them...

read what I write. Never mind that it may be seen as advice.

little thing from the Kuji-in.

Quote:
Once you start trusting yourself, practice projecting this trust into life. Say to yourself, “Life takes care of me, I trust life”. Eventually, this practice will lead you to have faith, the awareness that God takes care of you every moment, and that you can let go of your fears and worries; you are never alone and God supports all of your actions. If He did not, you would simply cease to be.

simpler than i could write it .

I'm not a member of A.A., but am a little familiar with the A.A. Big Book.

I try to read the following passage from pages 86 and 87 every day.

It helps.

Quote:
When we retire at night, we constructively review
our day. Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or
afraid? Do we owe an apology? Have we kept some
thing to ourselves which should be discussed with
another person at once? Were we kind and loving
toward all? What could we have done better? Were
we thinking of ourselves most of the time? Or were
we thinking of what we could do for others, of
what we could pack into the stream of life? But we
must be careful not to drift into worry, remorse or
morbid reflection, for that would diminish our useful
ness to others. After making our review we ask God’s
forgiveness and inquire what corrective measures
should be taken.
On awakening let us think about the twenty-four
hours ahead. We consider our plans for the day. Be
fore we begin, we ask God to direct our thinking,
especially asking that it be divorced from self-pity,
dishonest or self-seeking motives. Under these condi-
tions we can employ our mental faculties with as
surance, for after all God gave us brains to use. Our
thought-life will be placed on a much higher plane
when our thinking is cleared of wrong motives.
In thinking about our day we may face indecision.
We may not be able to determine which course to
take. Here we ask God for inspiration, an intuitive
thought or a decision. We relax and take it easy. We
don’t struggle. We are often surprised how the right
answers come after we have tried this for a while.
What used to be the hunch or the occasional inspira-
tion gradually becomes a working part of the mind.
Being still inexperienced and having just made con-
scious contact with God, it is not probable that we are
going to be inspired at all times. We might pay for
this presumption in all sorts of absurd actions and
ideas. Nevertheless, we find that our thinking will,
as time passes, be more and more on the plane of in
spiration. We come to rely upon it.
PS: I too would like to thank Diesel and MERC for their wisdom; 10-bears as well.

Big Merc is who I have always relied on for counsel.
My Uncle Pete ( Captain, USMC, Retired ,WW2, Korea ) RIP
Uncle Pete enlisted in 1927.
Commissioned to 2nd Lt at the end of The Big One

Also a Spec Ops Lt who mentored me on the Job back when I came on.
The Lt came on in 1961, and worked through the riots
of the 1960's. Cop assassinations in the 1970's and everything that
followed until his retirement in 2002. His advise was sage like,
full of wisdom , intelligence and experience. He was always very
Fatherly and protective of his midnight crew and we worked in
the busiest house there was. He predicted the Trade Center many
years before it happened . He always knew it was coming.

Besides Big Merc, there are a few books I continually re-read :

The King James Bible ( Old and New Testament )
The Art Of War - Sun Tzu
Beyond Band Of Brothers - Major Richard Winters ( a book of leadership )
The Book Of 5 Rings - Miyamoto Musashi
Hagakure , The Way Of The Samurai

Below is Uncle Pete at around 91 yrs old

Blessings,
MERC

I like reading the posts from folks from all different backgrounds
on this forum.
A lot of old school country wisdom around here.
Where else can you find a colorful Jewish / Cajun man except
around here ?
I have always pictured 5knives as Tommy Lee Jones Father
in No Country For Old Men.
Old sage police wisdom.
Dave, a poetic/ mercenary from BC.
Old soldiers like 4th, RTO, Frogman, Pogo, DD, Sanders, RetVet, Thanatos,
MrAk, MrK, etc
A lot of old cops like Remus, Stalker, ItsLucky, etc who have walked the walk
I look forward to some of the funniest shit I have ever read from Buz.
Guys who survive some harsh cold like Carne Frio and Boris.
Richard is a different perspective b/c he originally comes from the
other side of the pond.
Eric is still over there and gives live updates.
Aviator is very sharp
I like reading JD, the Colonel, Wwes, Belt, Oak, Hunter, Blunt, Enforcer, Wraith, Oz, Kostner,Hang
Lawyers are here like 500 and Garandnut. ( MIA )
I get to talk on the horn with 44, Czubek, 4th and AWT.
Hell , I like reading everyone, because different perspectives
is what makes America

But for me, it's the Big Bear that I need to log on and know he is
still around and in one piece. The Bear is the old time wisdom
I need to hear when we speak on the phone.

I'm humbled that anyone reads what I write.
It is me who comes here to read everyone else.
I may not always agree with everything said, but I will
fight to the death to protect your right to say it.

God speed.

Blessings,
MERC

It is good to be associated with, such

a diverse group of men, who share

mostly the same hopes and desires

for a common cause...

I feel enriched every time that I come

here, this is home...
