Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Anyone else have an anvil?

A long time ago my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told her I wanted an anvil. I didn't figure she would find me one
but she did at an auction barn.

This has been out in my shed for years. I use it when I need to shape metal.

I have an elderly buddy who has one. Last time I was up there with the buddy who introduced him to me I mentioned I'd like that anvil. Off loading it once I get it home would be a chore.

My buddy liberated one from our old employer before the city took over the properties. It became a barrel company in 1937 and closed down that site in 2008.

Only one I have right now is a RR track iron. Spent a lot of time building the horn and putting a flat on the top. I don't even use it anymore.
No hardy holes, yet. May not ever have any.
Best one I ever had was a 300# unit that I inherited with a property.
Left it where it was when I sold that property.

I'm not allowed to have one; because if I had one, I'd have to get another just to do this..

My little brother inherited my Dad's anvil.

I made mine from a section of railroad track like - except I haven't flattened and shaped it.

There is a guy in Mountainair here in New Mexico that hoards anvils. He has a building full of them. He will pay more than anyone for one and won't ever sell one. Guy is kind of an asshole.

I've heard that you should never use a rubber hammer on an anvil.

That pretty much describes most folks I've met in Mountainair.
