Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Merc, I like Jiffy Mix but it was banned here looong ago except when my wife goes out of town.
I'm not ready to ban it and start
from scratch yet. I'm enjoying the
success I'm having with the Jiffy Mix.

Ask Mrs. RTO to grant me a temp pardon.

Ok.
Today was my best work to date.
I made corn bread loaded with blueberries
blackberries and strawberries.

I kept it in the oven a little longer than usual
because all the fruit kept the inside wet a little longer.

It came out very good.
Mrs RTO would give this an approving nod.

Merc, sounds like you were very close to making a cornbread cobbler. I believe that Kay and I both would have enjoyed your creation.

That was definitely a cobbler!
One of my favorites was: 1. apricot 2. Peach 3. berry 4. apple 5. rhubarb.
Except for #5, they were all made with dried fruit also.

Dang, I miss those days.

#5 is expensive here and I only see it at the market once a year. A $5 package doesn't have enough in it for anything. Have to buy 5 packages for even a small dessert.

I do have some #5 plants growing in the garden. This is my first attempt to grow them.

Neighbor has some rhubarb plants. Certified disease free.
If not cut, they will grow four feet high and be as big as your wrist.
They gave me some of the young and tender plants once.
I talked the wife into making me a batch of pie filling, without the pie.
She had to look up the recipe, did a good job.
It was a fairly large bowl full, and I ate until I WAS full!

Ok... Since nobody else will post the mathematical equation for this, it's pi r round/cornbread square.

Back to the show.

I had rhubarb pie for the first time at about 10 yrs old.
I had it my aunt's place in the Smoky Mtns in NC.
She asked me if I wanted some rhubarb pie.
For a kid from NYC. rhubard might as well been from Mars.
I never heard of it.
It was one of the best things I ever ate.
