I'd take a single shot .22 LR over a sword any day, better chance of your survival.

Most folks just don't even begin to comprehend just how unbelievably powerful a bear is, even a little 200-250 pounder.

And up close they can be faster than anything you ever imagined.

Way better to leave bre'r bear alone and hope he returns the favor, unless of course your hungry and adequately armed. A spear or a sword is not adequate.

A pack of good dogs changes the equation, but you'll most likely lose a few good dogs in the process.
