The dogs first bird
Up in the mountians hunting ptarmigan with our young English Pointer. The area is crap, as this is the only bird we've seen, but at least the scenary is nice.
Having a midday rest.

I know English pointers that if you look away when he is 20 yards right in front of you then back at him he will be running across that distant hill 5 miles away in the picture, then look down at your boot and look up he will be on another hill, another 5 miles away on the other side of you
Nice Pictures. Good looking EP pup

The best birds are always found in cauliflower patches. Isn't it the same over there?
Seriously though, it is reindeer lichen. Where we were, it was about 6 inches thick. It can be strenuous to walk on because it is often like walking on a sponge. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cladonia_rangiferina |

Lots of bogs and Fens up there too. It's not recommended that you walk on them. You might sink up to your waist or even deeper.
