I finally found some 30-30 Winchester ammo.....
A coworker and I drove over to the Fun Shop 2 hours west of where I live to find some ammo.
They had plenty of 5.56, 9mm, .45ACP and a good assortment of most other calibers. I picked up two boxes (20 rounds each), of 170 gr. Federal 'Fusion' Bonded Soft Point. My coworker bought 6 boxes and some other ammo. The prices weren't the best but, it beats the $3-$4 per round I was seeing online most of the year. I paid $30.98 per box, plus sales tax. |

I think I have 4-5 boxes of that flavor in my stash, It's a toy that doesn't get much use but as far as ballistics is very good, not to mention collector's value, Winchester is no longer making them. A mint '94 with maybe 50 rounds through it. Bought it new back in the 70's. $74.99....

I have no idea how many rounds have been put through my Marlin Model 36 (1941 manufacture date according to the serial number). But it shoots straight & true. Looks kinda rough but, what the hell. It functions as it should. I won't shoot this one much but, a mans gotta have a lever gun....and a 'cowboy revolver'. I will buy a lever gun, in better condition at some point in time and yes, I still kick myself in the ass, for giving my son, the Marlin 336C, that I bought from a close relative, before he passed away. That was one sweet 30-30, in immaculate condition! IIRC, there was less than '3-4 small dings' in the stock & forearm. The bluing looked 'factory fresh' with aging...but no real wear. |

We found some 150 gr bullets in stock the other day. I loaded all the range pickup brass I had with a moderate load—-about 100 for me and about 100 for dad. I don’t shoot much .30-30 anyway.

I'm good on primers right now, picked up a couple pounds of BL-C2 powder locally at 28 bucks a pound, had some 139 grain soft point .323 diameter bullets for the 8mm Mauser and 120 grain hollow points in .264 diameter show up from Grafs for the 6.5 Creedmoor.
They were all made by Prvi Partisan, maybe not the best bullets in the world but for plinking they'll do. I also have Win760 and Win StaBall 6.5 powder for the Creedmoor. |

I realize this thread is a bit old, but in case you guys didn't know about it...
https://ammoseek.com/ammo/30-30-winchester Ammoseek isn't perfect, but it's a good resource for finding ammo or components. |
