Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Talking I Love The Smell Of Hoppe's No.9 In The Morning!

I picked up two Remington 572 Fieldmasters when my BIL died. He had a bunch of firearms. These two are smooth bore, basically 22 caliber shotguns. Rumor has it that these are no longer made and are kind of rare, so since I have no use for them so I figure to list them on GB.

Any way, back to the story; It was raining and shitty this morning so I drag them out to clean them up, and then one thing leads to another. I ended up spending the last five hours cleaning and taking care of a lot of the lesser used firearms I own.

Damn shame how easy it is to get behind in taking care of something that important. I feel better now that much is done.

Thought about going out back and shooting some, but rain and the wind is gusting 35 - 40 MPH.

Yep. It's too easy to get behind on gun cleaning. While I live in a low humidity part of the country, I can get away with being negligent, every once in a while.

I can imagine how much trouble you can get into if you neglect your firearms if you live in an area of high humidity.

I agree, Hoppe's smells great. I spent Sunday wiping mine down with Ballistol, another of my favorite smells. My wife doesn't agee with me...

I still say that the man who comes up with a cologne that smells like Hoppe's 9 will become a millionaire.

My wife loves the smell of it. You can also buy air fresheners that smell like Hoppes #9.

They say the smell is derived from oil.

I used to have a Hoppe's #9 air freshener hanging on the mirror in my truck. I don't believe that they are available anymore though.

I periodically drag my rifles & pistols out of the vault and clean/oil them...even when they don't need it.

Reminds me of the scene in "Police Academy 2" where Tackleberry is getting ready for a date and is patting cologne on his neck. Mahoney asks "What kind of cologne is that." Tackleberry replies "Gun oil."
