Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Texas is Losing the War on Feral Hogs

You want to get rid of them? Put the word out in the zipperhead community that wild hog meat is a potent aphrodisiac.

They'll have them hunted to extinction in 6 months.

Quote:
Despite years of intense hunting and trapping, Texas is losing the war on feral hogs.

Since the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) first began removing feral hogs in 1982, the hog population in the Lone Star State has dramatically increased and there are now more than ten times as many hogs in the state as there were then. Unfortunately, the evidence is clear: Texas is losing the war on feral hogs.

Texas has very permissive regulations regarding hog hunting, and hunters may pursue hogs all year long with no bag limit. They may be hunted over bait, trapped, hunted at night and from aircraft. As a result, it is estimated that over three quarters of a million hogs are taken by hunters, trappers, and TPWD each year in Texas.

Hard to believe......But then again people seem to busy or to pussy to even go out in the woods/desert much anymore.....From what i understand about Texas....Very little of the state is public land so these hogs are breeding on peoples private land.

That's what I think the problem is. Plus, if you want to hunt private land, the owners have discovered they can charge outlandish fees to do so.

When my brother was there, he wanted to go deer hunting. After he checked into it, he found it was cheaper for him to go hunt moose in Alaska than hunt whitetail in Texas - and that included travel expenses and the cost of shipping the meat back home.

So, while I want to feel bad for the "poor" farmers and ranchers, I just can't as they won't allow a real solution to be implemented - namely, allow folks to hunt their land for free.

That said, my cousin has given me an open invitation to hunt hogs on his farm.. I just don't want to drive out past Dallas.

Few years back riding my bike over on state forest road I had a herd cross in front of me. Little guy "Porky Pig" tough guy with tusks stopped and walked like right up to me and snorted. Like you got a problem?
Took out my .44 pointed it and said no sir. I didn't want to hurt the little guy he had cajones protecting his mom.

I wonder if they outnumber wetbacks yet.
