Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default The 5 Best 6.5 Creedmoor Hunting Loads

I haven't hunted with my 6.5 Creedmoor. I've only shot steel targets out to 1000 yards. I use Hornady 143 Gr. Precision Hunter, or Hornady 140 gr. BTHP Match, or Hornady 147 Gr. ELD Match ammo.

No matter what you read in the sporting press or hear around the gun counter, the 6.5 Creedmoor is not a giant killer. It’s not Thor’s hammer or a Storm Trooper’s blaster. What it is, is a very flat-shooting, light-recoiling, yet hard-hitting cartridge capable of handling non-dangerous game all over the world. That makes it well-suited to all sorts of hunting and all sorts of hunters.

The 6.5 Creedmoor works astoundingly well on varmints, feral hogs, pronghorn, whitetails, mule deer, black bears, and even on animals as large as kudu, elk, and moose. Here are five of the best factory hunting loads currently offered for the 6.5 Creed. I have field tested every one and can tell you from experience that they work when and where it really counts.

Nice!

I changed out the short 6"-9" bipod for a taller 9"-13" bipod, and added a larger bolt knob. Someday I'll change out the 'feet' on my bipod for these: https://www.accu-shot.com/catalog_ne...leat-feet.html

I do need to buy a couple more magazines but, that and the 'cleat feet' can wait until the weather warms up.

Same setup as my son's but he went with the 26 inch barrel... I've reloaded once fired Hornaday brass, 129-140 grain Hornaday Interlock or ELD bullets, CCI BR-2 primers and Win760 powder.

Sweet! How's it do poking holes or hitting steel at distance?

He needs to get it out more, I loaded 650 once fired Hornaday cases over a years time and he's barely got it broke in.

These kids nowadays.... if it was mine I'd be popping groundhogs at 600 plus yards with it.

Which round for hunting depends on the game. But I’ll venture to say a Barnes 127 gr LRX should be appropriate up to elk.
