Cardinals overwinter in your area?
We don't even get them here, at all. |

Haven't seen a cardinal down here for a while, must be getting too hot for them.

Cardinals and Blue Jays are here year round.
Junkos are only here in the Winter months. |

That's a nice picture. I've been at the dining room table all morning doing paper work and watching our bird feeder. 10 degree outside temperature makes that decision a little easier. No cardinals here, but a the flicker keeps coming by. A while ago there were 12 doves, then 6 blue jays and a bunch of the little gray snow birds. Oh, and every so often fatty the gray squirrel stops by to visit too. |

We have like a kazillion cardinals and Lord only knows how many juncos at our feeder. But, every time I try to take their picture, they vanish in to thin air.

A raw picture of our feeder, right now. Seems they have a camera detector built in to their bird brains. I pull it out and half leave.

We have our share of Cardinals here.
When my daughter and her family lived in Starke, Fl, they had a pair of Cardinals that stayed around their yard. My granddaughters named the male Kevin and the female Cassidy. When they moved to Tallahassee my granddaughters saw Cardinals there and thought that Kevin and Cassidy had moved with them. So now they have moved to Springfield, Il and the girls are older but they still call the Cardinals their respective names even though they know that the birds didn't move with them this time. My wife and I use those names when we are pointing out Cardinals to each other.
