Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Any 6.5 Creedmore shooters ?

Anybody shoot it?
If so, what are your feelings about it? I want to get myself a bolt rifle again, have seen this round being wrote up everywhere, but wanted to find real life experience not just magazine writers.

Kind of reading nothing but good reports on the round reaching out and touching people gunkgy.
Hell it would be a waste of money for me here as long range is a hundred yds. around these parts. Step off the road here and you need a damn map GPS and compass to find the road again.

My son picked up a long distance precision shooter from Legacy Sports International in 6.5 Creedmoor. It's built on a Howa 1500 action, special custom stock, Nikko Sterling Diamond scope and 26 inch free floated bull barrel with muzzle brake. Lifetime warranty on rifle and scope.
Rifle also has a 10 round detachable mag.

This is a 1400 dollar rifle and they guarantee sub-moa accuracy, they require certain specific break-in procedures and he is working on that now. So far shooting Sellier&Belliot 140 grain ammo it appears to be a tack driver.

He picked up dies, 600 once fired Hornady case's, Win760 powder, Federal match grade primers and various Hornaday bullets from 129-140 grain so where working on some different loads to try out.

He should be able to whack groundhogs at 600 yards, two legged vermin a bit further.

Can't be too many 6.5 creedmore shooters around.
It's the only ammo left on the shelves around here

Just picked up a Savage Axis rifle today in 6.5 Creedmoore. Not an expensive rifle, but Savage has a good reputation for accuracy. (good barrels) If I like the round, I can move up to a higher quality/priced platform.

Savage makes some of the best bolt action rifles at a great price. my son has a Savage 111 bolt in 30.06, with a good Nikon scope and hand loads it will give you groups that can be covered with a quarter at 100 yards.

I recently picked up one of these (see link below). I see someone up above in this thread also bought one.

It's a straight shooter right out of the box. Mine is the 'Subdued American Flag Chassis' (all black w/ white stars).

I've put about 45 rounds through it so far. My first time shooting long distance. My friend is a farmer that farms about 3400 acres, so he has the room to set up berms at 450, 830, 1000 & 1330 yards. I was hitting the steel at 1000 yards when I stopped shooting that day. The only thing I'll change on my rifle, is the bipod. The 6"-9" is too short. I'm gonna go with a 9"-13" bipod.

I was gonna go out there today and shoot but, he's up north at a rifle competition. All-in-all, I really like this rifle!

I made a post in the 'Rifle' forum a couple months ago about my purchase and shooting of the rifle. Here's that thread: https://www.dirtydozensbunker.com/sh...d.php?t=176151

The 6.5 Creedmoor has the chamber/lead/throat and twist set up for long range target shooting. People win 1000+ yard competitions with the cartridge all the time.

It is tempting to say it is nothing different than a .270, 6.5x55 etc.Such comparisons are simplistic. No one wins long distance shooting competitions with those other rounds.
