Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Just purchased a Nikon 8397 ACULON AL11 Laser Rangefinder

"At 3.6"x2.9"x1.5" in size, the ACULON Rangefinder is Nikon's most compact laser rangefinder, making it easy to take along wherever you go
Class 1 laser product, power output not exceeding .0975 milliwats

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Anyone use a rangefinder? This is coming in Wednesday and works from 6 to 550 yards out for $149.00. Had a good rating on Amazon.
I was going to get the more expensive 1,000 + yarder but hell seeable distance here is 100 yards at the most.

I've played around with them, but never used them before taking a shot, like in hunting.

Usually, it is after making a shot just to see how close I was in my range estimation. But, with my eyes getting more aged, I've been thinking about something like that. If I had $1,000 to drop on one, I'd get a Burris Eliminator III, which has a built in laser range finder and tells you where to hold over/under and even calculates wind drift.

Update on the Nikon. It is pretty much dead accurate. As the reviews state you have to have the image crosshairs on your target as it will measure to where you lay the sights when you hit the distance button.
If not you will get the background distance you placed them on. Interesting as I tested guys here with the how far is that test then gave them the Nikon. Nobody including me got an accurate distance just by guessing. Past 100 yds. we were all way the hell off just by guess.
Good device for you long distance shooters.
