Best place to learn about C&R
Been thinking about starting a C&R collection once I get back to work again, and of course convincing the wife. Problem is I have no real idea what I should be looking for and just the basics of getting started.
Can someone point me in a good direction to start my learning

However, if you have any interest in post 1898 firearms manufactured over 50 years ago, then a C&R license will allow you to buy such firearms from out of state and shipped directly to your home address. Provided always that you live in a gun-friendly state.

Klauss I used this website for info while researching whether or not to get a C&R license. You have to comb through it though.
http://XXX.cruffler.com/ I personally like the military firearms. My favorite is a Type I Japanese 6.5mm rifle, it is a capture that my father brought back from WWII. It was manufactured in Italy for the Japanese naval officers. The next is a K98 Mauser GI bring back that was captured in France toward the end of WWII. I bought it from the GI that brought it home and it has the original sling. Finally I have an Enfield Jungle carbine No 5 Mk1 just because I think that it looks cool and RetVet donated a correct sling for it that makes it even cooler. I have others but those are my favorites. Here is another site that has good info on military firearms and many that are C&R. http://XXX.surplusrifle.com/

C&R collection....I like your thinking, but narrowing it down is a BIG IMPORTANT step.
Though random C&R cool stuff is a good way to collect too. Mostly its about taste...for me, I LOVE Mosins (short ones specifically) and carcanos....at least for C&R. AKs for building. Really with a C&R you just get on email lists from distributers and watch for cool stuff to come up. Right now chinese t53 mosins and skss are about and nagant revolvers again. Its always changing as are the prices. Id recommend grabbing a tokarev, nagant revolver, mosin 91/30, m44, and sks just for starts and seeing which other stuff is available and interests you.
