Macroni should certainly be more grateful, that the signs are in French.

My cousin now living in Howwyweird hanging with the Hollywerid big wigs now said to me "It sure took you Americans long enough to come help us."
He was in Hungary under German rule as a kid during WWII. I told him "At the start of WWII our military was not prepared to take on the Boy Scouts let alone the German might. We had to build up to fight." He thought the Germans were bad the commies took every damn thing they owned. |

the main burden in the war and that we were johnny come latelys... They didn't know that we were fighting the nazis in africa and Italy long before D-Day and causing the germans to divert troops from the Eastern front and if we hadn't been doing that, the germans would've marched all of the way to the pacific ocean... Nor did they know that we were kicking japs asses at the same time...not to even mention all of the arms and supplies that we were giving the russians... I guess that they didn't teach them that in school |

Great video, Mr. Dow...thank you.
By "us" I trust you mean "the Allies", not just "the U.S." And just a quick reminder...if not for the Island Fortress surviving the first two years alone, Operation Overload would have been a non-starter.

If not for the US involvement most everyone on the other side of the pond would speaking a different language. We lost about 417 Thousand Soldiers there way more than Britain did.

I, in no means am trying to diminish the role that was thrust abound our English cousins but without the US, I am afraid that England would've been in a very precarious situation... |

Gentlemen, I do not mean to diminish in any way the vast contribution the
United States made to winning the war. I acknowledge that without U.S participation, the result may have been very different, and undoubtedly would have been a lot later. My beef is the constant (metaphorical) chant of 'USA, USA' whenever WW2 victory is discussed. That the Allies needed the USA to enter the war is without doubt, but consider this...how would the US have achieved what it did when it did without British airfields and harbors? And could they have achieved such success without the Russians and without the contribution of Britain and its Commonwealth countries? Operation Overlord was an Allied operation, not a US action alone. |

I truly believe that if England had fallen the war would have been lost.

We were using North Africa and then
continued from there onto Italy and then invaded the southern part of France, although the invasion of southern France was after D-Day... I’m aware that the English involvement in the Northern African campaign was very significant also...when we landed in Africa, we had to fight the French first, lest we forget... |
