Next time you fry give Japanes Panko a try.
What's the Difference Between Panko and Breadcrumbs?
"Panko and breadcrumbs are the pantry staples we reach for to add a crunchy topping to baked casseroles, and to make a super crisp breaded coating for fried and baked foods. They're pretty similar, but do you know what sets them apart?" https://www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-...f-mouth-218201 Japanese Panko bread crumbs are found in just about every food store world wide. Their lighter than regular bread crumbs and do not absorb the cooking oils near as much. I use them for all my bread crumb required coatings and sometimes mix regular bread crumbs in with them. Give em a try and let me know what yah think.

White bread in a blender makes great bread crumbs too and it's a great way to use the heels & next slice of bread.

We've used plain Panko crumbs for years.
Recently Panko came out with gluten free crumbs for those that are sensitive to gluten, one of my daughters is so we use them when she is here.

I use it to make my fried pork chops and it is better, IMO, than cracker meal.
