Hey Aviator!
Is your Hp Officejet Pro 8600 still kicking? Mine just died. I got a message that the print head is missing. I removed the ink cartridges and the cartridge tray to inspect and all looks okay. The ribbon cable is still attached.
Reckon it's time for a new one.

Ah geez...yeah, mine is still going. Funny thing, during the pandemic my wife was working from home so she ordered ink to be delivered to the college, somebody misplaced the box, she called again, well, to make a long story short I have more ink than we'll ever use. I scan, fax, print, even print photos sometimes, it keeps going.
Try this before you buy another: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printi...e/td-p/7172237 Maybe a bad connection on those flat ribbon cables, those printers are workhorses.

Thanks for the link. I tried the recommendations and downloaded a new driver dated Dec 2021, still didn't work.
I believe that I bought the printer about 10 years ago. My wife is retired and she is the treasurer for the HOA so she uses it almost daily. We've gotten our money's worth from it, not counting the rip off ink cartridges. |
