My cannas are starting to bloom
This one isn't as showy as some of my other cannas that will bloom later but it's still pretty.

And my Cleomi flowers are starting to bloom.
If you look close you will see a tiny Hover Fly gathering pollen and nectar. Cleomi by John Danley, on Flickr |

Jap beetles
An organic method I was taught many years ago is this: Collect all the jap's in an empty coffee can, grind them up in your wife's blender strain through cheesecloth to get the shell particles and such, pour into sprayer fill with water and spray the veggies berries flowers works for awhile...they get to smelling if you leave'em in the can too long though...

My lillies have run their course. I'm betting they need replanting in a more shady place.
They sure didn't last long this season. |
