Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Electrolux owns both brands, and the same factory produces both, but as you mention from different lines.

Generally speaking the Jonsred's are for more casual use (although they do make professional models too), while the Husqvarna's are generally geared more towards professionals and heavy duty work.

I have a Jonsred 2245 for "play", and a Husqvarna 550 XPG for serious work. They are both quality products, but there's no doubt that the Husqvarna is in another league.

Myself I'd rate Stihl first, second Echo, and third Husqvarna.

Most of those machines in big box stores will last one season then it's time to throw them away.

I agree on both counts. Stihl is a top quality machine.

Stihl or Husky would be my choice,,,I have a Husky 455 Rancher from TSC,the guy at the Husky dealer said they were the same saw.
I have used it for 4 years without any trouble whatso ever but have no doubt a Stihl would be the same.
go with what feels good in your hands balance wise but whatever you do DO NOT buy a freakin POULAN,,they are shitty pieces of shit

I too at first purchased cheaper saws, a Poulan comes to mind. They usually lasted one or two years and then fell apart, quit running ect. ect.

I bought 24" Stihl MS-390 and it only lasted three years. So, I bought another one four years ago and it is great. They had plenty of power and start and run great. I am in the process of buying a smaller version 14 - 16" range, and it will be a Stihl. I found that the older I get the more the saw weighs!

Oh yeah, BTW the first saw only lasted three years because I ran it over with the friggin tractor! Wasn't the first or last $500 mistake I made!

HA! Guy up the road was telling me his branny new Stihl limber saw quit running on him. I asked what the problem was and he said it had a "Ford problem".

Stihl. No need to look further. I have two, one large, one small. 15 years and still going strong and I work the hell out of my saws and don't baby them one bit. My oldest in fact still runs with the original spark plug. All I've ever replaced was the chain and bar, the two items that will wear out.
