Cook your bacon in the oven.
We'll cut to the chase.*You should be cooking bacon in the oven, period.
"Sheet-tray bacon is all pros and no cons. To start, you avoid the splattering grease and smoke that emanates from your skillet. That’s the root of the whole your-kitchen-smells-like-a-Waffle-House-for-many-days problem. With the oven method, there’s no risk of rendered fat splattering on your skin (ouch) or accumulating on your stovetop and other kitchen surfaces (yuck)." http://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/20...uld-start.html So much easier than cooking forever in a frying pan. __________________

I put it in the microwave sometimes, just lay a sheet of paper towel on top or you'll get grease splattered all over.

Here's a delicious recipe for you...
Buy a pack or two of little polski weenies. Cut a pack of bacon in thirds. Wrap each weenie in a third strip of bacon, dredge in brown sugar and use a toothpick to impale and hold the bacon wrapped and in place. Bake until perfect at 350-375 degrees.

I prefer a cast iron skillet. I use to microwave it from the 90s until around 2007. Then I went back to slow cooking in cast iron.
What Tim said. I worked at many Hotels in my youth, and most mass cooked there bacon in the oven's.

Ok, I don't eat bacon. Canadian bacon is so different. I don't eat that either.
My wife is a vegetarian. I love my cast iron frying pans. I hide it. The first time she saw it she scrubbed the blazes out of it. She said you can use it, I don't care. I just can't stand it with all that baked on ...... I used oil to cure the pan not fat. How can you use it if it is not cured. I will take my farm and guns over a good woman any day. LOL I told her the word Vegetarian was an "old Indian word meaning, bad hunter." If I cooked bacon I would hear about it until I was in my grave. She would come stand over my grave telling me I told you so. That bacon was going to kill you. I can here her saying it. |
