I want this sung at my funeral
I first heard this hymn at the funeral of a dear old lady from our church
congregation several years ago. It touched me deeply, even more so when I read the story of its author, Horatio Spafford. I doubt very much that I'd be able to face the tragedies in his life with his strength, fortitude and faith. But I do know that at the end, this will be a very appropriate song. It Is Well With My Soul.

The first time I heard that song, was sung by a good friend, in church.
A few months later he accepted a job to build a sawmill in South America. He did not survive that adventure. I hope he still had his faith, at the end. |

Some hymns I sing a bit louder, with a bit more enthusiasm in church.
That is one of them.

Loch Lomond I'd prefer. But I doubt I'll get it.
