Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Swiss K31 7.5x55 Rifles

AIM has them in stock and the price isn't bad.

Quote:
The Karabiner Model 1931 (K31) is a magazine-fed, straight-pull bolt-action rifle. It was the standard issue rifle of the Swiss armed forces from 1933 until 1958, though examples remained in service into the 1970s. It has a 6-round removable magazine, and is chambered for the 7.5x55mm Swiss (also known as Gewehrpatrone 1911, GP11, or unofficially 7.5x55mm Schmidt Rubin), a cartridge with ballistic qualities similar to the 7.62x51mm NATO/.308 Winchester cartridge. Each rifle included a 6 round detachable box magazine with matching engraved serial number. A stripper clip loads the magazine from the top of the receiver.
If I didn't have a nice one already I'd order one of these rifles.

Nice rifle, just wish it were 7.62 x 51, but alas...

Alas, its here but not for $79!!

Still, why rechamber for it at all? Just get ammo off of the Internet. Anyone want to bet that the 308 is more accurate or flatter shooting than the old swiss round? The case is longer and the bullet slightly smaller in caliber than 7.62x51.

I have a K11 inbound from Aim, their free shipping deal. Hope it has a walnut stock. A bit more than I'd like to pay, but oh well.

I've got 2 K31's and love them,, there one great shooting rifle, with 1moa groups very easy to do, even with my tired old eyes and no scope. One of these days I'm going to scope one out , but hate to bugger the Swiss "cross" on the receiver.

A Bud has a scoped one and he can cut the same hole all day long with it,,,There one shooting mother for a old military gun. They shoot every bit as good as my 6.5x55 Mausers,,which are tack drivers too.

It's tempting. My brother got one 2 years ago and let me shoot it. 1.5 MOA groups is great accuracy.

Dang, those do look nice! Decent price, too.

Looks like great ballistics as well. If the Swiss do it you know it must be nice.

You can occasionally find better prices for them on Gunbroker and see what you're getting instead of luck of the draw. My last pickup was a Swiss 1911 Rifle to go with the K11 Carbine and K31. Wish I had more of the surplus Swiss 7.5 ammo.

The 7.5x55 Schmidt-Rubin uses a 0.308" diameter bullet.
How is that smaller than the 0.308" diameter bullet that the 7.62x51 also uses?

Those european measurements are tricky going to and from metric to standard. Still, the assembled Swiss round is 55mm not 51mm tall, indicating most likely a bigger shell with more interior volume.

I wouldn't go changing it out to 308 nato for more accuracy. It would probably be worse.

Man I love me a K31. Shot 2" groups at 200 yards with the irons. First time out. My buddy held a 1.5" group though. I love the surplus ammo as well. That GP80 is good stuff.

I bought one about the same time I bought a French MAS-36. I wish it had a walnut stock on it though.

I do need to get some of my guns out and take better photos of them.

I read somewhere, a while back, that those are the cheapest $2,000 target rifles you can buy.

Never shot one, so I can't verify.
