#4 bore question
I had sent an e-mail with the clip about the 4bore to my brother. I e-mailed me back on finding more information.
Any links or suggestions for finding info? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElmlIyOtf1Q&search=rifle |

I don't know if this will help. But the Brits figured bore size by how many lead balls it takes to equal one lb. In the 4 bore it takes 4 round lead balls therefore it was called a 4 bore. In an 8 bore it took 8 round ball to equal one lb. and so on.

E-mail John Ross about it. He seems to know quite a bit about those old English rifles. His novel was fairly autobiographical in some ways.
From his website his e-mail is: jrinvest@earthlink.net
