When I was 17 (yes, seventeen) I walked into the Safeway with my .44 Mag on my hip and bought some groceries to take home. On the way out, the Brinks guy was on his way in with a money bag in each hand. When he saw the gun on my hip, I guess he thought I was Billy the Kid the way his eyes bugged out. I just grinned at him and kept on walking. I sure as hell wasn't going to leave it unsecured in my CJ-5 in the parking lot. But, getting back on track, if I was going to carry CCW, I might bring one or both of these along:

How could you get arrested for something that is legal? I keep mine covered up because if I ever need it, I want it to be a suprise for the person I'm going to use it on. I've just always trusted wheel guns, and I'm too old of a dog to learn new tricks. I enjoy collecting all kinds of firearms including semi-auto pistols. But, I mostly carry my Model 65 S&W in .357 Magnum.

Wisconsin is no CC period. Open carry has always been legtal, BUT ...
You won't get 200 feet in any town I know of, the charges will be the usual B.S, creating a public nuisance, disturbing the peace, alarming the public, etc. etc. then you'll get to sit (not in your vehicle) for however long it takes while they "verify' your identity", "check your record", "verify no wants". and generally treat you like Ted Bundy while the try to find out "What you were planning to do with that firearm.". If you're dumb enough to tell them you're "going hunting later" you damn well better know what's in season, where the Public ground are, and have a license. A lot of the anti-gun crap here is through the game laws. Much simpler to conceal, ignore the rules and regulations. They'll never know you have it unless you need to use it and if you do need it that sure as Hell trumps the rule breaking. Dems here killed CCW 3 times in the last 2 years. The bad guys have guns now and if I have to go where the bad guys are ... I'm gonna have one too, 'cept mine will be bigger! And I'll know how to use it. Regards, |

Most of the time I carry a Kel-Tec P-11. Most of the time if I am not at work I am in shorts and Tees. I can not carry at work. In cooler weather I carry my Springfield 1911-A1 or a Tarus 45. Used to carry a Sig 229, but it's a little fat and I sold it. If I'm dressed in a way too hard to hide the others I carry a Beretta 22.

Are you sure there is such a law as that? Or is it just a rumor spread by anti-gunners and the news media? It could be real but it sounds like BS to me. In Indiana, if you have a permit, you can carry it any way you want to. You can wear it exposed on the hip or in a shoulder rig. Or you can carry it in your pocket, or tuck it into your pants, or in your boot, or wherever you want to put it. And, it doesn't make any difference if you are walking on the sidewalk or in your car. That's the purpose of a permit. Have it ready for immediate use. States that issue permits and then limit them suck. |

The bare minimum for anyone that carries should be: Gun (To shoot people that are trying to kill you.) Spare mag (For the obvious reason, and incase your first mag fails.) Tactical Light with a minimum of 65 lumens (You need to identify what you are shooting at. Is it a guy with a knife, or the tow truck guy with a screwdriver?) Knife (Prevents against gun grabs, also good for intimidating women....jk) Pepper Spray (Bridges the gap between using less lethal, and lethal force.) |
