Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Extracting pictures off ancient computer

I have a ancient Gateway computer tower..... Been saving only because it had Pictures stored on it

It only has the old floppy disc drive in it

It has 2 "USB" ports on the back that a new SanDisk Flash Drive fits and plugs into

Will a ancient old prehistoric Gateway computer recognize the flash drive and be able to load the picture file onto the scandisk flash drive ?

Flash drive like this > https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....AC_SL1500_.jpg

I want to trash this old computer and big moniter

Try the flash drive in it, if it will recognize it, you're golden.

It does not recognize the flash drive

It just searches for a "driver for that device" and nothing

Any Ideas how to get my old pictures of that old old computer

I believe I have a cord somewhere that plugs into an IDE hard drive along with a power adaptor that is a USB cable. If I remember I will look for it tonight.

Seems like I have to download a scan disc driver some how so the computer will work with a scan dsc

Wait,,,,, I just checked, It does have a CD player thingy, I thought it just had that floppy disc thing

I dont think I can load my pics on a CD... You need a CD burner to do that dont you?

I was trying to figure out how many megabytes all the pics are.

The Pictures are under Documents..... Got ta go to Documents and then there is a pictures folder

JD, I have used a device like this to extract files from old hard drives. Do some research before ordering to make sure that it will work with that old HD data cable connection which is probably a 5 1/4 drive.

Yeah, I found mine but trying 4 old HDs it just won't find them. It finds my cable for a minute and then drops it.
Probably an old age cable thing... or it could be jumper settings. They all were set up as massa and rocket scientist cancer research book learning noble.
Something more modern should work better, and they appear to be pretty cheap.

JD, here is a video of how to use a similar device that I mentioned above. You'll just need to remove the old drive from the computer to hook it up.

Maybe I can just load the pictures on a floppy disc on the computer and then send the floppy to these guys to put on a CD.
