Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

When he was young my son claimed just thinking about having to wash dishes gave him a splitting headache.

I guess he washed a lot of dishes in terrible pain.

Either one, she will need a shot as quickly as possible.
She should wear a bracelet 10 Bear. With the international medical red sign on it. Plus information. If she does not have one already?
Medics checking pulse go, usually, too the wrist first.
Instant alert if she is by herself and has a reaction.

Your wife must know you love her to stick with a woman who can't be around shrimp and lobster. I know peeps who have divorced over less.

She never hesitated to make a mess of fresh fried shrimp, but she had a tendency to over cook them as most folks do so I made my own.

Raw onions mess me up. Started in my late 30's....guess I ate too many when I was younger.

Cook them, and I'm all right. I can chow down on onion rings and grilled onions, but put a raw one on a burger and I get the worst bellyache, followed by some gaseous explosions.

Most of these severe reactions are what is called "anaphylactic shock". It basically occurs when your bodies immune system ( what are called immunoglobulins) goes after its own white blood cells;rupturing them and causing release of histamine. This causes your blood vessels to widen greatly, causing dangerous drop in blood pressure, closing of trachae and bronchial tubes, severe swelling and without treatment can cause death. You can develop this reaction with repeated exposures to the allegen in question. Each exposure can be worse then the one before. This can be from ingested, inhaled, injected or skin contacted allergens.

Emergency treatment is epinephrine injection or benedryl, the former being more effective.

Anyone that has this type of problem, ( 10-15%) should always carry an "epi pen". A preloaded, automatic syringe that injects the drug when struck against the thigh.

Thank you for your perfect explanation of my bungling attempt, Chiroone.

It takes most people some time to realize such reactions are killers...not just an irritating inconvenience.

The day I finally figured out what was giving me these dangerous reactions I had just taken off from Farmington, NM. Sitting next to me and nodding off to sleep was a district mogul from Texaco. A few minutes later I felt the heart start to accelerate, throat closing up and I knew I was going to be in deep cowabunga. The guy next to me didn't have a clue about flying and chances are he was going to wake up to a dead pilot.

As stealthy as I could, I fumbled around in the airplane until I found my stash of Benedryl and popped a couple. The "bene's" won the race and I lived. The Texaco woke up to a very sleep pilot next to him but I got him home w/o his ever realizing the drama that had transpired.

From that day forward I've done my best to avoid sesame seeds etc. (By the way I got the poison dose prior to the flight on a sesame seed hamburger bun when we ate in Farmington.

Have an ucle allergic to msg, he gets any in him he'll be downon the ground gasping within minutes from his throat swelling. Think i'm becoming lactose intolerant, cant finish a glass of milk without if making my stomach turn.

Salt is a hrd one. Look at processed food and see how much is in it. 1500 mgs a day is real hard

Violent indgestion can be the sign of a mild food allergy. Avoiding meatloaf cuts down on the Maalox

My BIL is allergic to shellfish, so crab/shrimp/lobster are out, but he can eat mollusks like oysters/clams/mussels. Go figure.

Had no known allergies, touch of hay fever was about it.

First surgery last April, nary a problem.

My Valentines day reduction of the ileostomy, different story. third day after as they were discharging me, huge blisters everywhere the surgical tabe touched my skin. The last of them just dried up today. Serious infection route which fortunately didn't , or probably didn't infect, I'll know for sure Wednesday.

Doc said "Do not ever forget to mention this everytime you're scheduled for a procedure. Now you're allergic to our non-allergic surgical tape and each exposure will be worse in the future.

All my dressings are now held on with paper tape, which isn't worth the time it takes to apply it!

Per Dr's suggestion I now carry Benadryl with me 24/7 for myself and for others if needed.

Regards,
...

Iodine! It's what makes flamingo pink & your BIL react.
