This is the boat!!
Ever since I cut my teeth on Sunfish and Hobies down in Florida, I have wanted my own sailboat. Now that my little Sunfish style day sailor is underway,
http://www.stevproj.com/MiniCupPg1.html I've been thinking of my next project. It will be an actual REAL boat, suitable for serious cruising and an occasional "argh matey." Here it is, The Vacationer: http://www.stevproj.com/IntroVacPg1.html

"Fair seas and the wind to your back…"
I like small boats…having spent a good deal of my life working on really large ships and such, my favorites are still the ones you can 'man' all by your self or with a little company. Percy Blandford wrote a number of books published in England about building small boats and canoes/kayaks…the old way, without fiberglass and I built his sea going kayak, 16-1/2' long, rigid frame, quite seaworthy…looks a lot like the Klepper two seater. Good luck in your venture…and the adventures that surely will follow. Diesel 88888888 |

Looks like a great project. Can't wait to see it finished up.

I guess a lot of folk have considered hoisting the jolly roger and sailing off into a world away from all the ass hats that think they run the world.
I have wanted my own firefly class ship (serenity) for so long. The idea of getting beyond reach of most of the worlds problems is always appealing. Trouble Is I'm not really an ocean person. But open space up for me, and make it viable as ocean cruising and I'm so gone.

When you get in heavy seas, lash the sails, lower the masts, go below and batten the hatches. Ride 'er out, it could be the roller-coaster ride of your life.

Oh...I'm in love. Many years ago I got certified as a sailboat captain. Last time I was in one was a little Sunfish out in a Caribbean resort about ten years ago, barely big enough for me to fit in it, but it brought back memories of the larger ones I've sailed in. I love them, except for the maintenance.

Those are neat!
Take lots of pictures of the building process. I'd love to see how it all turns out.
