Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default Saw a bear today!

Actually, I saw two bears - the one in the video is a cinnamon bear (just a black bear with a reddish-brown pelt). About 2-3 miles further, a black bear was sitting by the road. I had the camera turned off because it has been screwy lately, and I didn't want the first bear accidentally deleted. They both got too far away before we could take any pictures of them. Thirty seconds down the road after the second black bear, we saw a cow elk. She turned and hauled ass before we could get a pic of her. Then, just after her there was a bull snake in the road. Wife got some pics of it on her cell phone. Then about 5 miles further on, there was a big buck pronghorn antelope standing beside the road.

Problem is, I was scouting for mule deer!

Neat! Never know what you're going to see on those scouting trips!

Nice! Always good to see critters.

The last bear I saw was up in the Manzanos. A few of us rode up on horses and were drinking quite a bit of wiskey on the way up. Close to the top is an aspen grove with an old crashed plane. When we got to the plane the horses all started acting strange. One of the girls said something about ghosts. As soon as she finished her sentence her horse rared up, threw her, and took off. A couple more of us were thrown in a matter of seconds. Then the most beautiful red colored bear came walking out of the trees like he just wanted to say hi. It stopped and watched us for a minute then just turned and walked away. He was probably about 75 yards away. I wish camera phones were around then, because its hair was red like an Irish girl. Spent the rest of the afternoon chasing down horses.

Both of them looked very healthy. Even though there is a drought in the mountains, they seem to be getting plenty to eat. Could be all the grubs in the rotting trees from the forest fires they had up there a while back?

At 26 seconds it looks like there may be a bear right off the edge of the right side of the road.

It always happens that way. When I was camping in Canada two Mule Deers came up and checked my tent when I was away trying to get a photo of a Mountain Goat. I never did get a picture of a goat.

I've seen a lot of bears in Michigan's UP. Best place to see them is find out where they are drinking water by looking for tracks. They usually go to drink water at dusk.

Until that day, neither had I. I have heard them, smelled them, and almost stepped in their shit (yes, they do!), but never saw one. Even tracked one once, only to find it had circled around me when I saw its print in my boot print on my backtrail.

Funny how that works. The fun is in the hunt, though. Actually bagging something is just a bonus.
