Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default ATF Rescinds Prior Methods to Measure a Firearm’s Overall Length when Equipped with a Stabilizing Brace

Just an FYI for anyone running these..

Quote:
Late yesterday, I received an email from an individual containing a letter from ATF which was a response to a correspondence requesting the correct method to “measure a firearm with a ‘stabilizing brace’ and folding adaptor.” It was explained that the correspondence was sent in the form of an email over a year ago and that the person had received a response via email shortly after it was sent. This letter was unsolicited and came over a year after the original request and response.

I was under the impression that it was already that way, that only the parts necessary for the operation of the firearm were measured... in the case of an AR, from the end of the buffer tube to the muzzle.

Isn't it seems to be as of late? Does anyone have or know where to option documents showing these newer pistols have been used in crimes ?

So they ignore the brace when measuring, but then they measure again with the brace to make sure the LOP is not too long?

I was in a local gun store last week. I measured an AK with a blade brace to have a 13 inch LOP. And I measured an AK with a traditional wood stock to have a 12.5 inch LOP.

The 13 LOP gun was a handgun.

The 12.5 LOP gun is a rifle.

Neither one is an SBR.
