Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Default The Heckler & Koch M27 Is the Marines New Rifle

Quote:
The U.S. Marine Corps has picked the Heckler & Koch M27 as its new infantry rifle. Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Robert Neller confirmed the selection in an interview with Military.com.

The new rifle is part of a wider overhaul of the Marines’ infantry gear. Jarheads are also getting new communications equipment, body armor, suppressors and night-vision optics.

The Corps began running unit-level trials with the M27 in late 2016. In February 2017, the branch released a Request for Information asking various manufacturers about their capacity to produce 11,000 M27s. In August 2017 the Corps announced its interest in buying more than 50,000 of the new weapons from Heckler & Koch as part of a sole-source deal.

A few Marines received M27s starting in 2011. The weapon has already seen action in Afghanistan.

Looks just like an AR15, fancy that. But since it's a German maker we get to pay more for them right?

An M27 reportedly costs around $3,000.
From what I've read elsewhere, that's over 3 times the cost of an M4. Is it really that much better?

It's still polishing the turd of a varmint round for combat.

I just do not comprehend why our military is stuck on that particular stupid of 5.56 instead of something with a little more power. Even if they didn't go to a .30 caliber, there are plenty of other, more effective, options.

Didn't the Swedes or someone have trouble with this thing in cold weather? It's just the HK416.

It was the Norwegians. However, it was because the first ones delivered had a switch to adjust between suppressed and non-suppressed use. The switch was meant for SF use only, and used incorrectly by regular troops that did not have the proper training. Hasn’t been an issue since, and AFAIK they now work well in all conditions.

You can take a 416...load it up switch to FA fire... and dump 2 or 3 mags through it. Break it down...pull out the BCA and place the bolt face against your nose. It will be just as clean as when you started and not even warm.

@$3000...that seems pretty fucking pricey for a re-popped M-16.
