Guide to the Best Knife Steel
In choosing the best pocket knife you should pay particular attention to the type of steel used in the blade. Alongside edge geometry and design, blade steel is a critical element that determines how a knife performs. Steel is essentially an alloy (i.e. a mix) of carbon and iron that is often enriched with other elements to improve certain characteristics depending on the desired application.
https://knifeinformer.com/discoverin...t-knife-steel/ One of the hottest CPM S90V blade’s right now is the Benchmade 940-1 with exceptional performance. >> See knives with CPM-90V steel. But now their coming out it appears with even better steels than the 940-1. The 940-1 runs around the $200 + or - range and is good for all if you want a great quality pocket knife. They recommend it for police, emergency responders, fireman and anyone in critical response it better work situations. Lot of choices and blade types. Check your state laws for the legality of automatic open knives. https://www.akti.org/state-laws-regarding-automatics/ https://www.rei.com/product/872148/b...-locking-knife

I’ve been making a lot using Nitro-v lately since starting my saltwater series, it’s becoming a new favorite for everything from kitchen to bushcraft. I typically work in S35vn, s90v, s110v, magnacut, Elmax, 3v, etc.
I’ve also been doing some CruWear core CuMai, pretty neat stuff. Not sure how to post pics. |

There’s a minimum post count before you can but you can send the pics to an established member that knows how and they can do it for you. I don’t know how in case you were going to ask.

I don't even know what steel my pocket knife is made of but I keep it sharp and honed, I can slice a ripe tomato with it and shave if I want to.
