G-d hates your cars...there, now, what else happened and would you care to tell US about it?

Brutal. Sounds about like last winter for me. Every other week there was something crapping out on me. Can't complain too much though, 215K on my 06 silverado and I still trust it, and get 18 MPG.

Truly am sorry for your troubles. cerberus Are you sure it's the transfer case? I run with guys that have 275-375,000 miles on theirs and they're still untouched originals. |

1998 Wrangler with 4:1 Terraflex gear reduction set and slip yoke eliminator. I was driving on a freeway on-ramp, accelerating at 45 mph. There was a loud pop and the car jerked. I thought I hit something but could not see anything in the rear view mirror. It drove home fine. I parked it at home over night. In the morning there was a big puddle of transfer case oil under it. It would not leak like that in one spot with a bad seal. I think the case cracked. Probably half of the chain let go and bit a hole in the case that I cannot see due to the skid plate. I might take it in tomorrow for repair. It needs to go to a 4wd specialty shop due to the 4:1 gear set in the transfer case. The Jeep only has 80K original miles. |

I might torch the flat bed off the 1986 F250 and send the rest of the truck to live with Allah.

Or, the starter solenoid - get under and tap it with a wrench or something -- not too hard, though. Every once in a while they get hung up. Could be the camshaft position sensor, but I don't recall if they were in that year truck, yet.

The 1986 F250 turns over and fires. It will run on starting fluid a little bit but I can't keep it going. There is fuel and fuel pressure.

On the 86, is it carburetated, or fuel injected?
