The Ukrainian military has received the first of its new US-made WAC-47 rifles, a derivative of the American-designed M16 rifle that chambers the Soviet-era 7.62x39mm cartridge. Ukraine is primarily looking to get the guns as part of a push to modernize its forces and to make it easier for its troops to work together with foreign units, especially members of the NATO alliance, but in doing so they're also sending a clear political message to Russia.

Due to the heavy taper the 7.62x39 never feeds right in an AR unless you get a lower that uses AK rounds.

It would almost have to be DI, or you would see the gas tube and piston assembly through the rail.

AHA, they want to move them to 5.56 down the road, which would be a mag and barrel change away with the STANAG setup...

The plan is to eventually drop 7.62x39mm entirely and adopt the NATO standard 5.56x45mm.

not all ways true USA mag made a franking mag ar15 upper mag welded
too a ak mag I have 4 two 30 round two 40 round they work 100%
with my ar in 7.62x30 my build the c mag thats in the pic I have a few
they suck 30 rounders but will only feed 20
