Appetizers for family gatherings & cookouts...
Whenever we have a get together, everyone always brings an appetizer, snack or dish to pass.
One thing I've found to be a hit, is mushrooms. Button or Porta Bella's...doesn't matter. Ingredients: 4-6 lbs. of mushrooms 2 lbs. of butter (we use sweetened, salted butter) 2 packages of Hidden Valley Ranch Dip mix (the dry mix) 2-3 handfuls of chopped, cooked bacon Cook the bacon, drain off the grease and chop into small pieces Melt butter in a large oval crock pot, add Ranch Dip mix and bacon. Stir. Add mushrooms Cook in crock pot on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally to get the mushrooms coated. Use slotted serving spoon for guests to dish up their plates. |
