I got 6 pints of persimmon pulp
A local orchard has it frozen from last year. The persimmons were from Southern Indiana. The persimmons from this area aren't very good.
I remember picking up buckets of persimmons and selling them when I was a kid. I love persimmon pudding.

We're canning Salsa tonight. About 40 pounds worth. Not sure how many pints that will amount to. We've processed some 12 bushels of tomatos recently, all from a co-worker of the wifes.
I don't recall ever trying a persimmon.

Years ago I went to the Keithville pistol range with a shooting buddy and there was a big persimmon tree that was just loaded. My friend said that he had never eaten a persimmon before so I told him that they were really sweet. He looked a little suspicious so I picked a nice soft ripe one and ate it. Then I picked a hard green one and handed it to him. He took a big bite, froze, looked at me and said "You're going to pay for this some day."

My grandparents had a persimmon tree. My grandfather liked to trick us grandkids (20 of us) into trying a green persimmon when we were little. It wasn't funny then but looking back now it was funny and that just made his day when he tricked one of us.

I got one Persimmon Pudding made. I'm getting ready to make some Dream Whip for topping.
