Morning Glories
I have Morning Glories covering one side of my swing house.
I think I might spray some Sevin on them to kill the friggin bugs that are eating the leaves. Morning Glories by John Danley, on Flickr

They will overtake anything and will travel for blocks from one house to the next. I had them all over my Areca Palms for years before I was able to finally get rid of them all. I think it's the same thing we had here or very similar.

We have the grounded type of Morning Glory plants, white flowers.
They are highly invasive, but a direct shot of "Roundup" convinces them to die. But, like Aviator says, their roots will travel a LONG way. |

Yeah but I didn't want to kill the other plants and Roundup will kill just about everything, I use it on my mulched areas around the pool and the front of the house, but you accidentally drop some on anything and it kills it. so I just went back there and pulled them off whenever I had a chance until I realized they were coming from other houses, then one day they all died off.

I have a 'small container' hand sprayer. I get close and just give it a little squeeze, lets out a mini mist or a drip, depending on how hard I squeeze.
I use it in my lawn on dandelions, a couple drips, right in the center of the plant. I do this when I pick the dandelion flowers first, then I know where to drip/ spray exactly. Yeah, I know, picky-picky, but it's my thing to do. Otherwise I use 2-4-D, when I spray the entire lawn. |

They aren't a problem here. The hard freeze kills them. You have to replant them every year. There will be a few that will come up from seed but not many.

I transplanted some along my chicken yard fence.
They invade my garden every year, and darn near choked out my blackberry bushes. We've stayed on top of them this year, though. But, we like the flowers so moved some to the yardbird fence.

try some soap first. i use an adjustable hose end sprayer and Murpheys oil soap. kills any soft body insects and won't harm the beneficials like lady bugs or bees.

Don't let Sam eat the seeds or he might go on a trip.
Back in my post Army days I knew some people that used the seeds to leave reality. Nope, not me. Just watching them was a trip for me. Boone's farm apple wine was enough for me. At that time I didn't want anyone to know that I had served and had been to VN.

Neat plant as long as you can keep it "in check". that's up to the gardener, hire a guy like me. Experience matters.
