Critter Lives Matter
Beloved Cat,
Lying on her side mouth agape. Wheezing, coughing, choking and dying. Only reason I'm awake. She's going to die, Mom is no more a stranger to it than I am. But it sucks and I'll be awake for that last gasp. Papa cat and his two uneaten offspring are fine and good. Mom's favored kid, if this critter drops? I've been taking shit for tending to our outdoor friend with a bite or BB on his front right leg. Small hole, big wound. No preference in the kids. I can't believe at 82 that Mom doesn't know that? I love them all, that interact. Pic from 2011. Girlcat, minus "hubby" but kids. Good run. Real good run! I'll miss this rude, nasty beast of 10 lbs. She enjoyed and understood love. She expressed such one or twice... Enough to beat stir fry... |

Damn cat died while typing earlier. Not a huge loss. But a loss. I liked her.

Sucks to lose a critter.
Like my dang turkey. He needs butchered, and is getting mean, but he and I rassled yesterday and he learned I'm still the boss, so now he's not trying to attack me anymore. Just a dumb turkey that should have been butchered months ago.

And thanks guys! Been through it many times but this was pretty unexpected. Threw a loop in my night. She was my Mom's "special cat", $40/month special in canned food only, LOL! I was responsible for the adoption, long story. Still have two healthy offspring and their father that ended up being adopted indoors after a head-end collision at highway speed...Ol' Mama Cat was a nasty boss but it was fun if that makes any sense? The father cat will be Mom's new best friend once he realizes he's allowed in her bedroom again. 20+ pound sweetheart. I tease him that he's going to grow chicken feathers, too meek for his size. I'll tell ya, Mom screaming for help in the wee hours scared me alot more than the kitty episode. Country living taught me that furry friends come and go. Mom's a country girl. Depression WWII country girl but she was out of it and asked "what do I do?". My simple hillbilly answer was we pet her, brush her, talk to her and ease her along. Proven technique and it worked like it always has. She'll be down for awhile but we had a good birthday weekend celebrating her 82nd with carnival food treats and cook-out goodies. Lots of cards and calls, and planters full of flowers of various sorts from me. Time marches on... |
