Christian names

When I was a babe in arms way back in '41, I was christened* in
St. Martin's Church, the local CofE church and was given the names Richard
John. In those days, what are today called forenames, given names or first
names were called Christian names...in all walks of life.

So when did that change happen? And was that a starting point in the
present era of denial ?

(*Being a relatively late committed Christian, I regard the 1941 event as
being when I was given my Christian names as I had no say in the matter. I
was baptized (full immersion) two days before my 69th birthday).

My Christian name is Daniel.

But out of sensitivity to the concerns raised by Black Lives Matter, I have changed my given name (first name) from Daniel to DaneequaRufiusShaneequaNgrNose.
