Thank you everyone.
I knew that my folks know a lot of people but, when the line of visitors went out the doors and into the parking lot of the church (they are members of a pretty large church), I was like, "Wow, there's a lot of people here!" Immediate family was ushered into the church after all were seated and with all the emotions running through me, I paid attention to the one thing that mattered.....and that was carrying Dad's ashes and urn to the front of the church. As the service ended and after I had picked up his ashes and urn to carry to the fellowship hall, it was then, and only then, that I noticed the church was FULL! The 'overflow area' was also full and there were people standing in the entryway. I can't even begin to guess how many attended or even how many family friends, family and neighbors I talked with. I was completely wore out by the time I got home last night (around 6 pm). I really wanted to take a nap but, I had to work today and didn't want to be awake most of the night. Thank you again everyone. |
