Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

In other words, a $500 Springfield may or may not work reliably with hollowpoints depending on the individual gun, but if you want to be SURE, then you need to buy one that has got some definite fine-tuning.

Yes, I've seen Glocks jam, too, but only with Wolf ammo in compensated models.

I'm not much into el cheapos in any kind of firearm. I haven't tried any of the less expensive models of 1911s. But, I've never seen a bad Colt, Kimber, ParaOrdnance, Wilson Combat, etc.

Unless they were manufactured way out of spec, any 1911 can be made ultra-reliable with minimal effort and expense. Those who think you have to spend a ton of money to make one reliable are being taken for a ride by gunsmiths.

I'll agree, M-1911's don't much like non ball ammo, but then they were designed for ball, and when feed proper ball, I have never had a problem with one, not even the worn out A1 I had to qualify with when I first entered the military. I would say the biggest complaint I have with any of mine, is getting hit on the top of the head by the ejected cases, but that is not enough to cause me to want to get rid of any of them.

My Springfield USGI that cost well under $500 feeds HP reliably right out of the box.Havent done a thing to it.The only thing it doesnt care for are mags with rounded followers. It prefers flat ones.

I shoot a hard cast round nose bullet that I cast myself in my Essex frame, Remington Rand slide 1911. As everyone has said, good magazines are a requirement. With good magazines, it will just keep on ticking, just like an old Timex watch.

A Glock, manly? I told a girl that owns a Glock that the proper way to shoot it is to hold it sideways with your hat on sideways and say "I'll bust a cap in yo ass, ****a!"

I thought the sights on a Glock are so that you have to hold it sidways. That is the only way I've seen people holding them in pictures.
