Thank you, everyone! I unabashedly cried almost all day over the loss of my "honey bug" and am blessed to have her daughter, 20 months old, to fill in a bit since she inherited the 'love' genes her mother brought.

My sol and I brought her home from the Veterinary Hospital and buried her up on the hill behind the house with her favorite bed pad under her and a Navy blue towel for a shroud, I found a couple of her bones and put them in with her. Years ago I bought one of those 'igloo' dog houses with a floor in it and had put it on the hill but none of the dogs would go inside or use it…after we buried Arka we put the big igloo on top of the spot to discourage animals from bothering her (I knew I bought that thing for something) and this morning for the first time Kiara sniffed around the site and affectionately rubbed against the igloo, something she never did before but the acknowledgment is profound.

Now, I am indeed looking for another GSD to replace Arka because I originally got her to keep Abby, my GS Service Dog, company and because it just wasn't fair to leave Arka alone when Abby and I went out I bought Arka's last pup from her last litter (therapy dogs for a Working Service Dog).

I will keep everyone informed.

I have been following this thread and hoping for the best. I'm very sorry you lost your girl. I really do believe that all dogs go to heaven. She will be waiting for you when you are ready to cross the bridge.

My condolences.

I didn't post anything about this until now. Your earlier description of Arka's problems was practically identical to problems my last Beagle had, and sorry to say the same outcome.
