Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Question Need ideas please

I have an unopened spam can of 7.62x54R that I'd like to open and transfer the ammo into a new USGI ammo can.

How can I open it without damaging any of the ammo? I've looked all over and asked friends if they have one of the Warsaw Pact 'can openers', and no one does. The ammo is packed in the can pretty tight and there's no 'rattle' or movement whatsoever.

Angle grinder along the top edge only until I see the seam? Then use a flat tip screwdriver to pry the top off?

Hammer and chisel around the perimeter of the top?

I do have one of those 'panel cutters' for an air hammer that body shops use, but no air compressor or air tools. Maybe use that instead of a chisel?

Thanks.

That'd be cool! Thank you. I'll include your cost of the postage/shipping when I return it.

This reminds me of the very old school can opener my grandmother had when I was a kid. It had a blade you stabbed into the can & a straight handle. You walked the opener around the rim by forcing the handle back & forth.

I saw a video around thanksgiving where a millennial was handed a can and a “manual” can opener. Hilarious. Google millennial uses can opener. There’s thousands of them.

Needlenosed vice grips. Clamp the tag and start turning.

Edit: Nevermind. Was thinking of a real SPAM can type opener.

I'd just go with the panel chisel and a hammer.

The screwdriver opening looked better than the damn key. I would guess thousands of those cans were opened by the Ruskies and com. block with the tips of their bayonets.
