Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Did it crack through where the safety lock is or below the cylinder latch?

I've got one of those with an 8 3/8 inch barrel. They really don't build them like that any longer!

I think this is a result of some unseen fault in the frame metal and shooting the 500 S&W round just exposed the fault. The 500 is a very high pressure round. I have an NEF chambered in this and let me tell you, it is a hoss in that rig. IIRC the pressure is similar to most rifle rounds. Yeah - just googled it - 60,000 psi. That's a bunch to contain in a revolver.

Still running and a beatin me up like she means it. I think the smith took some pics, I'll ask to take a pic of the pic. Holly crap, just looked at the recall posting that JD just put up, and I infact bought some Hornady rounds, not saying that it could be connected, because I threw away the box and all but 1 remain. I have no clue of the grains of the bullet eather, but I am sure I can find out some how. Least to say that round wont be fierd from my new gun. Would it be wrong to call my fire breathing 500 The punisher, as thats all it teally dose to anything it shoots, or anyone that shoots it. Lol. Thanks everyone!
gotta love the bump fire smily!
