Welcome to the site where the owners and members have had it with playing "nice" and being "inclusive" and "tolerant" of points of view that are destroying the fabric of what made this country great. The members here are sick and tired of politicians of all parties lying, deceiving, stealing, and pretending they are doing it all for the good of the country while selling out to special interests who have the set goal of destroying this country. We have had enough of career politicians who use their office only for personal gain, and who refuse to listen to the people who put them in office. The membership is no longer part of the silent majority who play nice and get along while getting screwed by anyone with a loud voice and an agenda. We will no longer allow anyone to piss down our back and tell us it's raining. And we like guns too.

Is yours a "sit in" or a "sit on top"? If it is a sit in, whatever that water temperature is will pass right thru to your body. Usually your seat will be elevated an inch or so, but your legs will be touching the bottom. Wear some warm pants, even if the air temperature is mild.

It is a sit in Wilderness Systems. The seat is elevated a few inches from the bottom. Do you think a medium weight wet suit would suffice? I am a bit worried about getting dumped in 50 degree water.

I think a medium weight wet suit would help you a lot if you should be dumped. The flotation of a wet suit would also probably be enough to keep you afloat. But, if you are fairly new to kayaking, I'd suggest you wear the life preserver too as WJH308 suggested.

Also, have a thermos bottle of hot coffee or hot chocolate to help you regain your body temperature if you should take a dump.

Underwater construction and salvage. It was a great job - for a single man, or a married man who wanted to become single. I was neither.
